Microsoft teams rooms – microsoft teams rooms.Transform your meeting spaces with Microsoft Teams Rooms

Most Teams meetings and calling functionality in Teams rooms is powered through the Microsoft Teams web app. To understand it better, you can think of the Teams client included in the Teams room application as a customized version of the Teams desktop client.

A specific Teams desktop client version is pinned in the Teams room application. Teams desktop client provides app level functions, like user settings for Teams meetings, policies, theme, and other Teams apps. The Teams web app is hosted within it to provide all Teams meetings and calling functionality. All feature updates in Teams require a web app update. Although the Teams web app updates are not new and has been used since Teams meetings were supported in Teams Rooms, it is more obvious now since most features are delivered through the Teams web app.

Features delivered through Teams web app goes through rigorous internal testing and validation through our Technology Adoption Program TAP. Customers can also sign up for public preview for Teams web app features and provide feedback. All new features or updates to existing features are added to the Microsoft Public roadmap to provide advance notice to customers.

In addition, Microsoft Message Center posts are available at least 30 days in advance of feature availability. These Message Center posts contain details of features and impact on user experience and are a great way to learn more about upcoming changes.

To enable Teams Rooms customers to validate upcoming features and provide feedback, Teams Rooms will soon be introducing a public preview program.

This program is an extension to the Microsoft Teams desktop client public preview program and will work in a similar way. Teams rooms public preview announcement and a detailed documentation for enrolling into Teams room public preview will also be made available at that time.

A screenshot showing the dialog “You’re about to be signed out: Windows will shut down in 1 minute”. Note: If you install a provisioning package on a device which is already in use, but not enrolled in Intune, it does not reset the system.

Windows applies the new settings, renames the computer, and joins the device to Azure AD, if specified. Furthermore, enrollment accounts used by the provisioning process do not assign a primary user for the device.

The only way to enroll a new Teams Rooms device during setup is to use a provisioning package. You can use the package we built in our example and copy it to a USB drive in the root folder. Setup will find the file and will continue with the enrollment.

For more information, see Apply a provisioning package. Important: Windows Autopilot enrollment is not supported for Teams Rooms devices. If you have completed a new installation or have enrolled an existing device with a provisioning package, the User Account Control dialog will not show the local Administrator account anymore in your Teams Rooms settings.

For example, you will sign in with the account. There are several ways to enroll Teams Rooms Windows devices in Intune. However, instead of using these accounts and the manual steps they require, you can use a provisioning package to enroll Teams Rooms devices in Intune. If you do decide to enroll Teams Rooms devices with a resource account, remember that the account still has resource access to certain services.

For new installations of Teams Rooms, you can apply a provisioning package during the OOBE phase of the setup process. After completion, the device is already enrolled in Intune. We hope this post helps you better understand the different options for enrolling Teams Rooms devices in Intune. Keep in mind that we recommend using a provisioning package and a dedicated account for enterprise installations and registrations with minimal interaction.

Microsoft Teams Vs Microsoft Teams Rooms.Microsoft teams rooms – microsoft teams rooms

Over the last couple of years Microsoft has seen a huge shift of businesses moving to Microsoft Teams due to the pandemic. Satya Nadella says a decade of transformation happened overnight! Which is saying something. Teams is a great tool which allows you to work anytime from anywhere and collaborate with your colleagues, customers and partners all in one place. It allows for easy work collaboration remotely. The ease of calling and messaging will, in my opinion, see a decline in traditional email use as sharing files is not only easier but a lot more secure whilst simultaneously allowing a much better version control over all those documents you work on together.

A whole new meeting room experience which truly connects the physical and digital worlds, where anyone can connect to the meeting room space from anywhere and collaborate on anything!

It is a true game changer in the way we meet, connect and share. It offers the flexibility of either being in the meeting room, at home or whilst travelling. For example, just recently I had a customer call where we also had a partner join us to present their contact centre platform. I was on the train, the presenter was at home and the customer had a mix of colleagues in the office and at home. Everyone was able to seamlessly connect and participate in the meeting.

The presentation deck was shared in the chat for all to see after the session. The big difference to Meeting Rooms vs Teams is the hardware and furnishings of the actual meeting. The hardware alone has to be certified by Microsoft Teams for the best user experience.

This includes screens, speakers, cameras and mics. With these peripherals it means everyone in the room can be seen and heard. The other difference is that whilst you are in the meeting room, everyone can collaborate on any documentation that has been shared within the virtual environment. Then when you leave the meeting room, everyone can continue to work on those documents and share notes. So, gone are the days where everyone writes their own notes using a pen and pad, then having to type them all up and send round via email to update and add!

Thank goodness for that, because that was painful at times. The Meeting room space is now somewhere specifically designed to create and help discussions move on rather than just slow things down. Also, with wireless connection and one touch join, you are no longer seen scrambling around trying to connect your laptop to the monitor.

Its now a much slicker professional experience. Lots of development is going into this new way of hybrid work where the Microsoft team in Redmond ideate and design better meeting rooms experiences for those in the room and those who are not to create an inclusive space like Front Row. This is where all the meeting participants are featured at eye level on screen to create the experience that everyone is in the room, even though they are not.

A lot more features and experiences are due to be released by the Microsoft Team at The Hive in Redmond so keep watching this space for new updates. Wesley Budd. Microsoft Teams Rooms provides a complete meeting experience that brings HD video, audio, and content sharing to meetings of all sizes, from small huddle areas to large conference rooms.

Microsoft Teams Rooms help is a great resource to find out more about Microsoft Teams Rooms and how it can add value as part of your deployment. You can procure these components as preinstalled bundles from a number of vendors, or you can purchase the supported components individually by following the requirements documented in this article. Use the approach illustrated below to guide you through your deployment, and customize the sample outputs provided as needed for your organization.

Begin with understanding what conference rooms you have and envisioning what would work best for you in the future, then move through selecting and procuring the equipment you need, readying your sites, configuring and deploying your service, managing change and user adoption, and developing operations and maintenance procedures.

You might need to coordinate these activities across several teams. We provide a high-level view of the main activities that you should cover, and also suggestions for the teams who are typically involved in deploying and managing conference room systems, to help you decide who you need to work with. The first step is to inventory your organization’s existing meeting spaces and conference rooms to understand their environment, room size, layout, and purpose.

You can then identify the capabilities you want each room to have such as intelligent cameras, whiteboarding, content camera, etc.

After you create an inventory of the equipment and capabilities in each existing room, your requirements for that room feed into your device selection planning to create a rich conferencing solution.

The modalities audio, video needed for each room—in addition to room size and purpose—all play an important role in deciding which solution is most appropriate for each room. As part of your discovery, it’s key to consider room acoustics and layout. For example, check that the chairs in the room won’t block the camera view. Based on the vendor you prefer, use the information provided in the requirements article to define your Microsoft Teams Rooms and supported peripheral device configuration per room type, and use this as a template for your deployment.

Pro Tip — Now is a great time to start gathering information about the Microsoft Teams Rooms solution you’ve chosen. You can acquire Microsoft Teams Rooms from a number of partners who are listed in the requirements article.

Please visit the partners’ websites to learn more about these solutions and procurement options. Depending on your deployment scale and approach, you might decide to have the Microsoft Teams Rooms and supported peripheral devices shipped to a central location for initial configuration and assignment. This might be a good approach for a staged rollout across many sites.

Or, you might choose to ship the bundles directly to your sites. Your organization must execute monitoring, administration, and management tasks on an ongoing basis, and it’s key to agree who will undertake these tasks early in your deployment. Many organizations have an AV team or partner who manages their conference rooms and devices. Decide who will manage the Microsoft Teams Rooms devices going forward to monitor performance as well as deploy software updates and hotfixes.
